Football isn’t only played on the pitch. It is lived in the neighborhoods, in memories and in the passions we weave together as a city.

Challenge

Everyday neighborhood memories, the life stories of anonymous protagonists, unofficial pitches and the cultural and emotional dimension that football has woven across the territory remained scattered and barely visible in digital spaces and in collective memory.

Solution

We created Medellín Around the Pitch, a transmedia project that brings together an interactive map, articles, interviews, podcasts, photography and video to preserve and share the memory of football in Medellín.

A transmedia project exploring the social, cultural and emotional history of football in Medellín.

The project seeks to preserve and share the memory of football as a central part of paisa culture, showing how the sport has permeated every sphere of society: from the first elite pitches to the multi-sport courts and grassroots fields that come alive in every neighborhood today.

With accessible, diverse content (an interactive map, photographs, articles, podcasts, interviews and archive material), Medellín Around the Pitch offers an affectionate, educational look at football as a cultural phenomenon in the city.

More than a century of football stories, characters, places and passions, collected and told through an interactive digital experience.

Color palette

“Medellín Alrededor de la Cancha” is built on a vibrant, diverse and deeply emotional visual identity that seeks to capture the emotional and symbolic richness of football in the city. Its color palette of bright, contrasting tones represents the plurality of voices, places and passions that make football a shared cultural fabric.
