“Masculinities Lab – Men Who Care” training program
Audience:
Comfama’s male employees
When men give themselves permission to acknowledge their own vulnerabilities and lessons, they stop carrying imposed mandates and open the way to new masculinities that care, transform and contribute to a fairer society.
Challenge
Comfama recognized the challenge of strengthening conscious masculinities among its male employees, in order to weaken traditional cultural mandates that have limited equity, broken harmony in relationships and perpetuated historical gender gaps. It needed a safe, creative space to question, reframe and transform those practices.
Solution
Mosaico Experiencias supported the Masculinities Lab – Men Who Care, a training program for which we designed the pedagogical and methodological approach, delivered in Medellín and across the subregions of Antioquia. The Lab offers a space for dialogue, reflection and collective creation where men can rethink their personal history, question traditional mandates and explore new ways of relating to others based on care, equity and awareness.
Impact
More than 200 men took part. The program sparked deep reflections that strengthen Comfama’s organizational culture and plant more equitable practices in personal and working life.
The program established a pioneering space in Colombia to rethink what it means to be a man today, from a healing and transformative perspective.
It planted the seed of a new generation of men who care: agents of personal and collective change in their everyday lives.
